Kjell Engelbrekt, Professor of Political Science at the Swedish Defence University and member of the Royal Academy of War Sciences, discusses Sweden’s changing security policy and its role within the NATO alliance. The interview explores how Sweden’s post-Cold War defence posture evolved and what NATO membership means for Swedish strategy in the Baltic Sea region. The discussion also considers Sweden’s transatlantic ties with the United States and Canada and the growing strategic importance of the Baltic-Arctic security complex.
